Located at the corner of Tigertail Avenue and Mary Street in the heart of Coconut Grove, 2850 Tigertail is a landmark Class A office building that redefines the relationship between architecture, landscape, and the public realm. Designed by Arquitectonica, with landscape architecture by ArquitectonicaGEO, the 8-story, 195,575-square-foot development integrates urban sophistication with a lush, resilient landscape inspired by Coconut Grove's tropical character.
The landscape strategy enhances both the building’s identity and the pedestrian experience. At the street level, the public realm is reimagined with the installation of Silva Cells beneath the sidewalks to support the long-term health of six mahogany trees along the right-of-way. This innovative green infrastructure system allows for expanded root growth and stormwater management, promoting shade, resilience, and environmental performance without compromising walkability.
The landscape architecture extends vertically through a series of elevated courtyards and planted terraces, providing green relief and outdoor amenity spaces with panoramic views of Biscayne Bay. These vegetated zones contribute to the building’s environmental goals while reinforcing the connection between people, nature, and place.
Artfully integrated with museum-quality works from Jorge Pérez's private collection, the project seamlessly merges culture, landscape, and design innovation. With its focus on wellness, sustainability, and contextual sensitivity, the landscape design at 2850 Tigertail elevates the project into a civic landmark that reflects Coconut Grove's ongoing urban renaissance.
